In an article on the MEDICINA S/A website, Genov was highlighted as a benchmark in genomic surveillance and in the identification of new coronavirus variants in Brazil. "Although these figures refer to the months of May and June, they are of great epidemiological importance because they help us understand the behaviour and evolution of the variants in Brazil. These are findings that reinforce our perception that we should not undermine the risk that variants, such as Delta, may represent to our country; but that we need to keep an eye on the local evolution of Gamma," explained Genov coordinator and Dasa virologist José Eduardo Levi.
